January 19 | Full Moon Fundraiser Event
The Wolf Sanctuary’s Full Moon Fundraiser event features a roaring bonfire (weather permitting), live entertainment and self-guided tours. Guides are stationed at each pack throughout the event to provide information on the wolves at the sanctuary as well as facts and information about wolf conservation and biology. Bring a blanket, a flashlight, a chair and maybe some hot dogs and marshmallows. 16+ event (no children permitted). 465 Speedwell Forge Rd., Lititz. Warm up this winter with thousands of vibrant, artfully presented blooms. View rare and unique orchids, such as the Phalaenopsis Sogo Yukidian ‘V3’ hybrid, which has as many as 18-20 blooms per flowering stem. Be amazed this season with 200 colorful Vanda orchids hanging from above in the Silver Garden, giant orbs of orchids inside the Conservatory, a waterfall of Oncidium orchids in the Cascade Garden and more. January 19 | Sierra Club – Lancaster Group 9th Annual Polar Bear 5K Trail Run/Hike
The Sierra Club – Lancaster Group invites runners and hikers to participate in its popular 5K Trail Run/Hike. The unique 3.1-mile race winds through the park on well-maintained trails (with some hills). Leashed dogs are welcome. Money raised supports the club’s efforts in Lancaster County. Last day for $30 registration and guaranteed T-shirt is January 4; last day for online registration is January 16. Prizes will be awarded to the overall top three male & female runners and the top three male & female runners in each age category. The first three finishers with dogs will also receive prizes.
