CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health

Healthy Communities Conversations Series

Nikole Hannah-Jones is a journalist, author, Pulitzer Prize winner, and creator of “The 1619 Project,” an initiative from the The New York Times Magazine about the history and lasting legacy of American slavery. Ms. Hannah-Jones has spent years chronicling the way official policy has created – and maintains – racial segregation in housing and schools. Her deeply personal reports on the Black experience in America lay bare the need for greater equity.

On April 21, 2022, CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health will welcome Ms. Hanna-Jones to our Healthy Communities Conversations series.

During this one-night special event we’ll learn more about Ms. Hannah-Jones’ experiences; we’ll discuss the challenges she has witnessed as communities have worked toward healthier, more empowering cultures; and we’ll explore her thoughts on how communities can strive to create environments in which every child, family, and resident can thrive.

An Evening with Nikole Hannah-Jones will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 119 N Duke St, Lancaster, PA, from 7:30-8:30 PM. Tickets are also available for an optional VIP reception starting at 5:30 PM at The Pressroom Restaurant.
