Numerous veteran performers from the Lancaster Shakespeare scene will offer pop-up performances to ring in William Shakespeare’s 460th Birthday and The People’s Shakespeare Project’s transition to a new moniker: Lancaster Shakespeare Theatre!
This transition represents the start of a new era and expanded vision for the 17 year-old theatre company.
The roses will be in bloom and Enck’s catering is serving a feast for this event. Guests will eat well, drink heartily, and enjoy the beauties of the countryside.
But the real draw is the other guests. (Talk about networking!) All the best people are coming, and you will hear from all of them:
The Royals will be there: heroic Queen Margaret, wife to Henry VI; conflicted Prince Hamlet; and tyrannical King Richard III.
Some of Shakespeare’s fictional characters are coming too: Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing, Shylock from The Merchant of Venice, and “Romeo, Romeo!”
And music! You will hear an original song inspired by LST’s production of Cymbeline (We love that we inspire songs!) and a medley of music from Twelfth Night.
And just when you’ve heard all the Shakespeare you can stand, we give you an hilarious bard-cleansing speech from I Hate Hamlet.
Great entertainment, delicious food and a spring evening in the country. What could be more enjoyable?
