Visitors to Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum will experience Civil War life during our annual Civil War Days event to be held Saturday and Sunday, November 6 & 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Townspeople, Union soldiers, cavalry, surgeons and others who have their own roles in the war populate the village during the event. Civil War engineers will answer questions about how new technologies influenced the war and the Sanitary Commission will give talks about keeping the soldiers fed, clothed, and healthy. Infantry will lead programs where children can participate in musket drills and do other activities. There will be musket firing demonstrations, examples of camp life, and an artillery piece on display.
Admission to the event is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $8 for youth ages 6 to 11. Children ages 5 and younger are free. All proceeds benefit the museum.
