Intro To Antique Clocks
Register online; last day to register is 1/12/24. This workshop will cover the basic functions of a time-only mechanical clock movement. All participants will disassemble and reassemble the movement several times. Participants will be introduced to a mainspring winder as well as the clock-cleaning process. The assembled movement will be lubricated and put into beat on a movement test stand. The School is located directly across from the National Watch & Clock Museum. Arrive a day before the class to explore the Museum! Hand tools and the movement will be provided but remain the property of the NAWCC. It is suggested that you bring your own binocular magnifier (visor) or similar device and safety glasses to work with mainsprings. Visors and safety glasses are available for use in the workshop.
