Sound The Trumpet! First Friday Concert

Trumpeter Doug Albert will be featured in a free 30 minute First Friday concert on March 1, 2024 at First Reformed Church in downtown Lancaster. Mr. Albert will perform on four trumpets (B-Flat, E-Flat, Piccolo, and Flugelhorn). Selections will include “The Trumpet Shall Sound” from George Frederic Handel’s ‘Messiah’, along with Eric Ewazen’s “Prayer and Praise”, and songs of our childhood including “Jesus Loves Me” and “Simple Gifts”. The concert will conclude with “Presto” from ‘Concerto in C Minor’ by Johann Sebastian Bach and Alessandro Marcello. He will be accompanied at the piano by Larry Hershey. The First Friday concert series is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday for the convenience of those who wish to spend the early evening visiting downtown galleries before the concert. Doors open at 7:30 pm. All are welcome to hear 30 minutes of inspiring music that will refresh your soul and inspire your spirit.
