Photography is an art form that is accessible to the masses thanks to today’s digital cameras and phones. This workshop is designed for those who want more for their efforts — a chance to slow down and be immersed in the historic traditions of photography for creative expression.
Participants should bring whatever camera device they choose — from DSLRs to smart phones. This is about developing personal vision, not how to use a digital camera. The workshop consists of classroom instruction and outdoor activities.
The presenter brings a 4 x 5 large format film camera for participants to learn about historic, traditional photography and understand the importance of critical thinking and composition. Participants can make photographs with the 4 x 5 camera utilizing concepts learned in the workshop. Using the tapestry of people, buildings, landscapes of Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum, participants will be able to utilize a variety of photographic possibilities.
