Like old times, the Zimmerman Center’s Lecture Series is back!

Long before Europeans arrived in the “New World”, Native people were carving images of things that were important to them on rocks on the lower Susquehanna. Their legacy makes this part of the river home to the most significant concentration of rock art in the northeast United States.

Who created the petroglyphs, what do they tell us, and why did they choose this place to create them? Join us as Zimmerman Center director Paul Nevin, an authority on the river’s rock art, shares his research, experiences and insights gathered over the 40-plus years he has studied and visited these cultural treasures.
