Despite spending years making probably thousands of loaves of bread, Grammy Annie still enjoys treating her family to what daughter-in-law Janelle Stoltzfus calls “a taste of love.” We were invited to sample Annie’s homemade bread, which we topped with strawberry jam. Ingredients
- 6 cups warm water
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 cup honey
- 3 eggs
- 3-1/2 Tbsp. yeast
- 2-1/2 Tbsp. salt
- 15-1/2 cups flour
Directions
Mix the first six ingredients together and add the flour – 1 cup at a time. Let it rise double then punch down and let it rise again. Put in pans and let it rise again, then bake in a 350-degree oven for 30 minutes.
