CASA for Children of Lancaster and Lebanon Counties began as an idea launched by Judge Louis J. Farina in 2005. The mission of the organization that emerged has remained steadfast: “To provide a qualified and compassionate court-appointed volunteer advocate to every child who is abused and neglected, to ensure the fundamental human right of having a safe, nurturing, and permanent home is met.” The vision also continues: To provide every child who is abused and neglected with a “safe, permanent home and the support to become a healthy, empowered adult, thereby breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect.”
Each fall, CASA for Children of Lancaster and Lebanon Counties, hosts a fundraising event that entails a heroes theme. This year’s theme is Tailgate & Touchdowns, which will be filled with inspiring stories, exciting auctions, delicious food, and championship-worthy fun, all in support of children who deserve safety, stability, and a voice. Attendees are encouraged to dress accordingly: Tailgate chic, your favorite team’s jersey, your team’s colors, or classic game-day glam, etc. As has become a tradition, the evening will be devoted to connection, celebration, and purpose. The event will feature hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine, a complimentary cocktail, dinner, silent/live auctions, dancing and more. 5:30 p.m. Penn Square, Lancaster.
